Grounding with the Earth Element

The element of Earth is connected to the end of the summer, right before autumn. Think Indian summer, when its still warm and your body sort of slows down… For me this is the perfect time to do yin yoga, that’s why I designed this class – slowing down, feeling the earth beneath you, and […]

Meridian Yin yoga & Qi Gong Class

In this class we really focus on moving Chi/Qi through our body. We start by feeling the Qi, moving it with a couple of Qi Gong exercises, and then “stretching” or stimulating the sinew meridians with Yin yoga.

No timer set!

in our opinion “stress” is not a bad thing, we need it in our daily life! To much of anything is never good, and we all know this, so to much stress is bad, however whatever form of yoga we practice we always want to stress the body in a Yang or Yin way. In […]

Mayofascial release and Yin yoga

In this class we will work on the muscles/fascia with the help of a tennis ball and maybe a foam-roller. We will target certain areas first by rolling them before we stretch! So you need at least a tennis ball, and if you have a foam-roller/block/belt. Have fun!

Yin yoga on the Wall

In this easy yin class we will use the wall as our biggest friend. In different classes we use the wall as prop sometimes but in this one its our main prop.

Working around the back

An easy yin class where we stay 2 minutes in every pose. The class focusses on the back and spine, and we don’t have rebounds in between. Just a long rebound at the end of class!

Soothing Yin

This is an easy, straight forward yin yoga class, in which you need a sturdy blanked or a thick towel. We work on the spine and the back and basically all the muscle groups around the hip and thigh. I hope you enjoy this one!

Yin yoga in Bergen the Netherlands

This class was filmed at Moon Yoga Club in Bergen (N-H) the Netherlands, during one of our trainings there. Its a standard yin yoga class where I give you options for different “target area’s”. You’ll find that when you do a class taught for a group it’s a little different than when you only have […]

Replenishing Yin

Moving the energies of the kidneys and the heart can deeply affect our overall inner state, especially when we feel tired and depleted somehow. Chest openers, hamstring stretches, shoulder stretches and twists, all deliciously yin to allow for a deeper rebound.

Yin to Go

This is a relaxed practice with all yin elements, but done in a way to gently energise you and lift your spirits. We stay shorter in the poses, and most of them are gently stimulating, so you can get rid of stagnation and move some chi without getting too sedated. I sometimes do this practice […]

Qi cultivation

One of Paul and Suzee’s famous quotes is: “The purpose of yoga asana is to harmonize the flow of Qi/Chi in the body”. In this class that’s the whole purpose to activate the Qi, to lift it up, to move it around.

The Living Spine

So many of us have issues with their backs, so much so that we tend to think of the back as a fragile, dangerous place. There is also a tendency to treat the body as if it is inorganic, comparing it to a paper clip or a credit card. This short talk and practice is […]

Happy slow beginnings….

Happy 2019 to all! We’ve been busy all year and we probably going to be busy in the new year again. We all have new years resolutions and achievements, but what about starting the New Year slow? I mean very slow… Yin slow…. For me that is wonderful, and I hope for you to, taking […]

Morning Express: Yin and Kapalabhati

This practice is especially nice for when you are recovering from tiredness or illness, or when your body needs something else than a workout. We start with some yin poses, not staying too long but enough to get the chi going, and then spend some time practicing kapalabhati, a strong breathing exercise that clears the sinuses […]

Yin Yoga Classics

This class focuses on aal the muscles groups around the hips and thigh, which can be very effective in harmonising the flow of energy in the whole body. There can be a huge build up of tension in these areas, and these long stretches revive the whole area.

Reconnect

This is a shorter yin practice designed to reconnect ourselves to our own inner intelligence and wisdom. Placing the focus on the liver and gall bladder meridians we use the poses to gently irrigate the body with new energy and calmness.

Yin It

This is not a full on yin session but one you can use to “yin” yourself out a bit; we don’t stay as long in the poses but enough to calm down, connect and relax. In just half an hour we get a delicious yin bath to balance things down when necessary.

Assisted Yin

This is a routine taught by our teachers Paul and Suzee Grilley designed to offer some of the yin benefits while working with a partner. It can be very relaxing and beneficial, both for experienced yogis who feel they can surrender completely to absolute beginners who can just relax and be worked upon. There are […]

Meridian Boost: Liver and Gallbladder Meridian

The Liver chi coordinates and regulates the movement of chi everywhere in the body. The Taoist call the liver ‘the General’ of the body, it governs a healthy chi flow within us. The Liver meridian begins on the top of the big toe, runs up to the inside of the leg and enters the torso […]

Meridian Boost: kidney and Urinary bladder

In this class we give the Kidney and Urinary bladder meridians a boost! It is nice to combine this class with the Heart and Small intestine class. Although we believe that we can influence the meridians with stretching, we know that it’s impossible to just work on one meridian at the time. You will influence, […]

Meridian Boost: Heart and Small intestine

The heart and small intestine meridians run through the upper body, not an area that we work on a lot in yin yoga. The heart meridian has 3 branches: One goes down, through the diaphragm to the small intestine, one goes up through the throat, the tongue to the eyes, and one across the chest […]
